Theory- Emotional Labor

Definition- the idea of that it takes emotions in order to provide a service or product. For example in fields like social work or even a flight attendant (Arlie Hoschild)

Apply: this is relevant because it is a reminder that social workers must engage in self care

Adapt: this concept can be used in a negative context for careers such as marketing or bill collector. For instance exhibiting negative emotion to make a customer feel guilty enough to pay off their bill.
